Our associations
Bergen's Technical Museum is made up of a number of associations and groups that run the exhibitions on a voluntary and unpaid basis.
Bergens Veteranvogn Klubb (BVK) was founded in 1980 and has been based in Bergens Tekniske Museum since 1994. With almost 400 members, the club is one of the largest in Trikkehallen. It brings together people with an interest in historic vehicles and culture on wheels, and has regular meetings every Tuesday. The club is also active in cultural heritage protection, and owns two of the Royal House's former cars, which are exhibited at the museum. A separate pensioner group contributes with maintenance and practical work. BVK has a rich social environment with trips, meetings and lectures.

The organization consists of committed enthusiasts who work on everything from laying rails to maintaining carriages and operating the tram. BES is unique in the world – very few places have volunteers been able to lay rails on city streets. The work has resulted in a living part of the cityscape and an important contribution to the preservation of Bergen's transportation history.
